Breakfast was really good and I didn't have to book a time slot which always helps, room was very nice with slippers and a gown , a large room overlooking the garden and river where you could see an angler fishing- he caught a fish whilst I watched. Dinner was very good with a good selection of dishes. The hotel is just off the main street in its own gardens and only a short walk from town

The location was great - right in the town center and overlooking the River Tweed in the back. The breakfast room was bright and inviting the next morning.

It’s a lovely place and the staff were great as usual. Comfortable, warm and the food is excellent. Breakfast is great value.

A very special place to stay in an interesting and historic town. Not for folks who prefer modern decor and modern facilities!. Our attic room was comfortable and had a partial view of the river. We liked the table and chairs by the window. The hotel had wonderful paintings and furniture, a comfortable lounge for residents, and a stunning riverside garden .Like a small stately home! Friendly staff and excellent breakfast, where service was perfect.
