WOW!! What a find. The Hardwick is an old fashioned,honest , overnight accommodation little gem. If you're a travel lodge type of person this isn't probably for you(although you really should try it). A lively,local pub with regular,local people,a bit like the pubs you see in TV soaps,easy to find on the middle street in town and truly amazing value for money. I booked late in the day,one hour before arrival and got the last room available. It was a triple room,1 double and 1 single with a large private, separate bathroom with shower over bath,and a range of toiletries and towels . In my room there was a fridge , microwave,toaster and kettle and a supply of coffee,tea etc. And I paid .....£35!!! Unbelievable value. ( A few days earlier I paid £32 to pitch a 1 man tent on a campsite) 😱 Fantastic,friendly staff helped make this 1 night stopover memorable. Many thanks Hardwick Hotel.
The location was perfect bus stops right outside. Chines and takeaway shops coop etc.
