Less than a mile from Windermere Railway Station and town center, the Ivythwaite Lodge Guest House offers luxurious rooms, free parking and free Wi-Fi. The Lodge has a private garden and welcomes guests on a room only or bed and breakfast basis All rooms have private bathrooms, flat-screen TVs and tea/coffee facilities. Some rooms have aqua spa baths, power showers and four-poster beds. Guests can enjoy a varied breakfast menu in house with produce home-made or locally sourced. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available. Other services and facilities offered include free guides to a range of local walks in the hills and on the lake shore and helps guests who wish to stargaze with advice and equipment. The center of Bowness is a 15-minute walk away, giving you access to the Windermere Ferry, the World of Beatrix Potter museum and water sports on Lake Windermere. Kendal, Grasmere and Dove Cottage, the home of William Wordsworth are only a 20 minute drive away and the M6 motorway is only 15 minutes’ drive from Ivythwaite Lodge.

Facilities were in good condition. The location is also convenient. It’s in between Bowness and the Rail Station, so both Windermere Lake and Bus Interchange are within walking distance.

Central location, I liked the finishing touches. Carvings on the four poster bed, fox door stop, electric fan stove heater very cosy.
I loved everything about Ivythwaite: the location, the facility-inside and out, my room and its princess four-poster bed, the food and, of course, my hosts.
The rooms are comfortable, with en-suite bathroom and tea/ coffee facilities.
Ivythwaite Lodge is conveniently located with an easy walk uphill to Windermere or downhill to Bowness.
Breakfast was generous and delicious, with freshly baked bread and cakes, and locally sourced produce.
