We really enjoyed staying at Lauriston over a weekend for a wedding at Layer Marney tower near by. Karen our host was lovely, responsive and sorted out last minute requests (like an iron). The apartment is super neat, clean and comfy, and they’ve added little touches that make it more like a hotel, like fancy biscuits and pressed toilet paper rolls. That said, worth noting that this is the hosts’ home in a quiet private village, so their standard for guests is to treat the apartment as you would want them to treat your home, which is a little different to a hotel! But for a couple looking for a quiet spot to relax over a long wedding weekend, this was absolutely perfect. We’d be keen to stay again!

Both apartments are tastefully decorated, with pretty much everything you need. Tea, coffee and milk were supplied. Parking at the property for one car per apartment and easy access to local pubs, one within walking distance. We went to Layer Marney Tower for a wedding and it’s only 2.5 miles away, which was perfect. Both bathrooms are super clean and great showers. Very private and very nice and quiet. We needed an iron and Karen supplied this.
