A picturesque, 20-minute stroll along the river will take you to the historic city center, and York Racecourse is just a mile from Midway House. York Minster, the Jorvik Viking Center and the famous Shambles are a short walk or 5-minute bus journey away. Rooms at Midway House are bright and individually decorated, and all offer private bathrooms, except one, which has a shared bathroom. Every room has a flat-screen TV and free tea and coffee making facilities. Midway House has a large and sunny dining room, and a residents’ lounge, which has comfortable seating and a TV.

Very cute room, quaint furnishings, nice windows, the whole house has early 20c atmosphere. Tidying happens daily, plenty access to tea and instant coffee. Very nice common room with two sofas and board games.
For the price this place is amazing so good we stayed on for second night and will definitely stay again when in York so close to everything you could possibly want to do in York 😎
Close enough to the centre by bus and the room was pretty comfortable.
The host was very accommodating. The location was brilliant. There was a bus service every 15-30 minutes to the town center and the railway station. Overall we had a very good stay.
