New Holgate is just a 10-minute walk from the historic city center and less than a mile away from the medieval City Walls. York Minster is one mile from the property and Jorvik Viking Center just a 15-minute walk away. York Railway Station is also just a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

Lovely hotel with comfortable, cosy rooms. Very welcoming staff and extremely welcoming to dogs! We didn't eat there but the breakfast area looked lovely.

Into the Centre of York.
The hotel was beautiful, on a lovely street with easy access to the centre, either on foot, by taxi or bus. The lady on reception was really friendly and went out of her way to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The room way exceeded my expectations, it was beautiful, we had so much space.
Breakfast in the morning was outstanding too, absolutely lovely place, surprised it's not got a 10/10 rating.
The rooms were spacious and the man at the front desk, Oscar, was extremely helpful! He recommended wonderful restaurants, and was happy to assist us with anything we needed. He felt genuine and kind, and truly is the part that took our stay above and beyond. Without him, we would not have been so over the moon, to the point where I want to leave feedback! We appreciate you Oscar!
