Fantastic historical building with a very friendly host that will immerse you in the history of the property. Be sure to ask about King John and Robin hood! The evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Prepared and served with perfection.
The house is located in a quiet rural area just outside Bristol, but very close to main traffic arteries. So ideal placed if you are travelling through or on a road trip such as we did.
I highly recommend this if you are interested in history and want a break from busy city center stays.
The history, comfort, bed, claw foot bath,, breakfast, and the host. Everything was fabulous! We especially appreciated the host sharing some of the history of the house.
Our host, Christopher was very kind and gracious. He upgraded our room to a better one. The dinner was absolutely amazing. The place has a unique history. It has hosted many important people in the past. April is an amazing time to visit the area. Spring colors all around.
We really enjoyed our stay. Christopher was incredibly charismatic, knowledgeable, and clearly takes great pride in being a 5-star host. The grounds were stunning, with a very lovely sunset in our room. The binoculars in each window was a nice touch.
Facilities were clean, bed was comfortable, and the food was impeccable. While we didn’t have a chance to head over to Wales, it is well placed for a trip (or to the Cotswold or Brighton). The Neolithic property, with current property ties going back to the 12th and 13th century - it’s a must for this wanting that classic British charm!
We will certainly be back.
Old Church Farm is a unique property that looks even better in reality than it does in photos! I can highly recommend staying here. The hosts are kind and attentive but not overbearing. Not to mention the breakfast is delicious!!
