I first stayed at The Falcon in 1961. I have returned throughout my life, even having emigrated to Canada in 1978. Truth be told, Arncliffe (and The Falcon) are my heart’s home.
Of the three staff we encountered. Charlie behind the bar and the owner seemed very nice. Breakfast was lovely and the rooms comfortable
The location is awesome. As soon as you enter the door, you are thrown back at least 50 years ago to the days of the original country pub. The falcon inn was featured as the original ‘woolpack’ in the first seasons of ‘emmerdale farm’, a long running tv series. Arncliffe was also featured in recent episodes of ‘all creatures great and small’. Arncliffe is a wonderful small village with a real rural community tucked away in the middle of the yorkshire dales national park.
Traditional English Pub with quirky memorabilia which added to the character in a perfect location. Pleasant helpful.staff and delicious food.
It was absolutely lovely, super friendly staff, fantastic food, the hotel itself is very old fashioned, and the location is incredible, the village of Arncliffe is simply stunning, will most definitely be back
