Great location. Room was very nice although the exterior and interior of the building as a whole was quite shabby and undergoing extensive refurbishment. e.g. Scaffolding up all along one side of the hotel, breeze blocks piled up in the corridor to the room. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Views and Location - excellent
This is a charming clifftop hotel with great views across Whitby harbour to the famouse Whitby Cathedral ruins and the 199 steps leading up to them. The elevator is being replaced at the moment - which made it a bit of a trudge up to our 3rd floor room - but everything else was perfect - particularly the views from our top floor windows. The staff were very helpful and stored our touring bikes in a room near reception. The breakfast the next morning was excellent. We'd certainly stay here again.
