Thurlestone House is an adults-only bed & breakfast in Carbis Bay, around 1.2 miles from St Ives. The property enjoys sea views and offers a range of breakfasts. Just 7 minutes’ drive from the Tate St Ives gallery, this Cornish bed & breakfast has free parking and WiFi. Each guest room includes a flat-screen TV, alarm clock, wardrobe and tea and coffee facilities. There is an en suite shower with a hairdryer and toiletries. Thurlestone House offers a choice of cereals, yogurt and fruit salad as well as cooked breakfast. Porthminster Beach is around 1 mile away and guests can drive to the Barbara Hepworth Museum & Sculpture Garden in 5 minutes. Penzance and Mousehole are around 20 - 25 minutes’ drive from Thurlestone House.

The owners - Lynda and John were delightful and very welcoming. Breakfast excellent and room was nice. Close to a very good if somewhat expensive restaurant, however the main course of fresh local fish was perfect. Location for us was great. Easy walk to beach, where there plenty of choice in eating out. John helped out with narrow parking that is very necessary on a main road.
The breakfast was excellent - we had a choice of several types of breakfast.
The hosts were very knowledgeable and willing to give advice on local attractions.
John and Linda are absolutely wonderful hosts. Linda’s breakfasts are simply scrumptious, John’s wealth of knowledge invaluable, and together they make the perfect team.
The room was extremely well appointed with very comfy beds, plenty of stow room in the wardrobe and a practical bathroom. The seaview was a lovely bonus.The bus stop nearby was great for getting about St Ives and the local area.
My sister and I were welcomed and looked after like family and we were sorry our stay was so short. But we’ll be back.
