My wife and I appreciate unusual places to stay, so this remodeled barn loft was something we snapped up when we saw its availability, especially with its reasonable distance to Arcadia NP. The host provided us with farm fresh eggs and Maine coffee, which was an especially considerate touch. He did not impose on us but made it clear he was available if we needed anything. He even left a map with an alternative route to Acadia to avoid road work.
The space is large and charming. Although the bathroom and shower are a bit small, both are fine for their purposes. We would recommend to anyone wanting to stay near Acadia but far enough away from the crowds.
We loved how convenient this location was to Acadia National Park and other fantastic hiking spots in the area (about 20-40 min drive); All amenities were very thoughtful and you could tell they put a lot of care into what went into the property; Just overall very clean and organized.
We were more than happy with this accomodation. The owner was super welcoming, friendly and relaxed. The place had everything we needed including great cooking equipment and lots of everyday items you need on a prolonged stay. I think it's a refurbished barn so of course it's a bit rustic and not super glamorous, but it's really charming and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
