A very sweet property- convenient to great restaurants and shopping. The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. Staff was exceptionally kind and helpful.
The location was great, walking distance to downtown and it was nice to have a guaranteed parking space at the inn. I had the outside attached room which was nice and quiet. Breakfast was good!
I liked almost everything about the Inn... it is beautiful , comfortable and friendly.
The Compass Rose is a beautiful old inn, in the heart of historic Newburyport. We walked everywhere. The suite was comfortable and cozy, with a wood-burning fireplace. They provided a free duraflame log for our first night. Breakfast was self-serve and ample, with options for hot and cold cereal, breads and homemade pastries, etc., and a hot frittata. The atmosphere in the public portion of the inn was very welcoming and warm, with a fireplace always going, and fresh cookies always available. We had no trouble parking behind the inn.
Great location, walking distance to downtown, staff was very pleasant and accommodating,breakfast was delicious. We will definitely be returning next year.
