Location is great and always such a welcome place to stay near the end of my annual road trip. My late husband and I enjoyed being there at the end of our camping trips in the Trinity Alps. I appreciate that dogs are always welcome there.
I love classy, old and/or historic hotels. I love that there are actual keys to the rooms, claw-foot tubs, the look and feel of the lobby, the photography on the walls, the large staircase that descends into the lobby. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast options are really good, esp the ability to make your own waffle. Staff are great and I appreciate the parking permit that lets cars park in 2hr spots overnight and up to 11 a.m. the next day. Arcata is a lovely, charming town - very walkable. Great restaurants, bookstores, and a fabulous Coop grocery that stocks local food products, produce and fresh bread. We stop there one day each July, on our way back to California. Wish I could stay longer!
The room was huge and the hotel is absolutely beautiful. The location is great, right downtown at the main square with lots of parking in the area.
Very clean and welcoming. I loved the decor. It had a charming, historical feel. Located in the heart of downtown, it's surrounded by great shops, yet surprisingly quiet.
Beautiful historic building with so much to explore- it feels great here.
