VIEW WAS GREAT, UPDATED ROOMS WERE COMFORTABLE AND BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED!
Absolutely gorgeous room with million dollar views! Be sure to book in the renovated Pines Building and you won't be disappointed! The bad reviews are from people who booked in the older rooms thinking they were getting the remodeled rooms. I would be happy in the older rooms as well because the location of this hotel can't be beat! Walking distance to the beach and any restaurants and shops you could want! Staff were fantastic as well!
The view was incredible. We loved that we had a terrace to sit on and enjoy the ocean view. The bed was very comfortable. We were happy to have a small kitchenette.
The location is phenomenal. Easy to go on walks with breathtaking views of the ocean and marine life, or stroll in La Jolla village to shop, or eat in one of the delicious restaurants (Puesto, Catania...). It's an amazing location for open water swimmers. I love to just cross the street and go for a 1 mile swim in the ocean (lifeguards on duty, showers available and plenty of incredible marine life).
Remodeled portion of building is nice and rooms were clean. Great sheets, nice shower/bath. Amazing view of ocean.
