The location, the vibe, the setting, the neighborhood, the historical background, the convenience to downtown. FUN FACT: From the room, go to Cabell Street and walk Eastward on Cabell to the end of the street (about 3-4 blocks). On your right you will see interesting old buildings and THEN look for the dirt trail that leads to the main trail, keeping left, you will go over a footbridge across the creek that will take you straight into downtown Lynchburg at the old railroad depot (which is now an excellent restaurant). We discovered this fantastic shortcut on our last day in Lynchburg. We would have been walking into town EVERYDAY instead of driving and paying for parking!! Every place is beautiful, shady and litter free! What a great place!!
