The room was very comfortable and the ambiance in the lobby is lovely.
Any staff we met up with were very friendly.
We liked the complimentary green apples on the accommodation floor.
I was extremely impressed with the front desk staff, I spoke to Shay who was the night time receptionist and she was very generous, polite and understanding to all my needs and requests. the hotel staff accommodated my special request for my partner superbly and surprised even myself. The suite was excellent and everything was so neat and tidy, my partner's reaction to the suite made everything worth it.
Great Hotel , What made is special was the staff !! Big thank you to Dominic (Great Guy !! ) in maintenance who took care of a problem with AirCon and arranged an upgrade .
We chose the Thompson as it was the only 5 Star Hotel in central San Antonio and was competitive in price against the 4 Star Hotels.
Whilst checking in we were given water, which came in handy refillable bottles.. There were water refill stations on every floor, which I thought was a nice touch.
We had a king room with city view. The room was very nice - dark hues with a teal emulsion. The theme was mid century modern verging on industrial. With a retro radio thrown in for good measure!
Most importantly, we had a lovely king bed with crisp white sheets and that is really all we needed.
The view of the city didn't disappoint.
The mini bar was well stocked.
The en-suite shower room had luxurious white marbled tiles. There was a large double shower and oversized vanity unit.
The bathroom was equipped with a funky grey dressing gown.
Everything was clean and updated. The staff were very nice and accommodating. Armando was exceptionally helpful and friendly when we were packing up to leave.
