Mustafa was a great host and we really liked our room and the common area with the kitchen and lots of couch space. They were all very kind and make sure we were comfortable at all times. Kendwa beach is one of the best beaches in Zanzibar and we were only a few minutes walking from it. Very good location. Rooms were clean and we were happy they had mosquito nets.
The biggest advantage is the host - he helped organize trips and accompanied them, advised where to shop without spending too much, organized arrival from and to the airport. The property is behind metal gates, no unwelcomed visitors. Beautiful beach nearby.
- Great location, a short walk to the beach.
- Mustafa, the host, very polite and helpful, arranged for a driver to the next location, as well as the pick-up from airport - both for good/local price. + sugested places to eat in the area, where to buy stuff/groceries, where to exchange money (at local mini market).
- Room cleaning done daily.
- Kitchen & dinning area also helpful - we did take a couple of times lunch or dinner as takeaway from local places and did ourselves nice big salads as side dish (vegetables from grocery amazing, especialy the big avocado, limes, ginger).
- Towels available (both for bathroom, body and face, + for the beach)
- we stayed in the big room, with beds having mosquito net (useful)
- good restaurant next door (Sama sea food Kendwa) with good local food at reasonable/local price
Very simple, comfortable, and clean in a traditional home. Mustafa and his sister were very welcoming and helpful
Amazing stay at Pumzika. Only a couple of minutes walk to the beach. Rooms were clean, had AC and a safe. Mustafa, the host couldn’t be more helpful. He was always on hand to give the best recommendations and to organise whatever tours you wish. If you want to help support the local community in Kendwa , I would highly recommend staying here.
