An Alladins cave. A family room above a brocante. I had an abundant breakfast beside a glorious blazing fire fed by wood from the vines in a room filled with curiosties, various beasts and a myriad of paraphenalia suspended from the ceiling. The large bedroom had a pair of the most comfortable armchairs and footrests which I sunk into and slept! The shower was hot with good pressure. The bed very good. Although I did have my doubts about the voluminous half-duvet. A Japanese staircase leading to the room was easy to go up, but coming down it was a little more concerning. I did not attempt to haul my baggage up there. I am taller than the average Japanese person with regrettable geriatric knees which made it a challenge.
