The apartment was lovely. I only wish we could've stayed more than one night in Carcassonne. The decor was clean and modern but didn't take away from the sense of history of the building. There was even a tiny elevator that fit one person and our bags.
Impeccably clean, bright, airy, quiet, well equipped and lovely hosts
Such a gorgeous place. Very very clean and the hosts were lovely. They accommodated us with a cot for our baby and warmly welcomed and farewelled us on our departure. Cannot fault it.
Location - 7 mins walk from the train station, about 2km (uphill) to the medieval citadal, La Cite, and Chateau Comtal, a 12th century castle within the Cite.
Well maintained building, apartment in superb condition, spacious, huge sitting room, great kitchen, laundry, beautiful bedroom, nice bathroom, happy to overlook tight shower stall.
Host ensured he was at the property well ahead of our train arrival time as he does not want us to wait - how thoughtful was that. He helped send our 2 suitcases up in the small lift to our apartment floor. While he was not fluent in English, we somehow got by. He had no problem coming to pick up the keys to the apartment on check out at an earlier time than originally agreed due to last minute train re-scheduling.
Nice size for a couple. Very clean. Near the railway station. Fairly quiet. Close to centre of the Bastide. Lift available (apartment is on second floor). Well equipped kitchen. Heated towel rail.
