Great location in Hvar, close to all the restaurants and ferry, but quiet enough to sleep well. Welcome fruit, nuts and large still water waiting for us on arrival. Well stocked amenities in the bathroom including a Dyson hairdryer, Philips steamer, beach towels, and robes.
Breakfast was run by a restaurant across the road and was very delicious - yogurt, fruit, bread and eggs to order.
Stefani was helpful throughout the visit and let us store our bags for a few hours after checkout.
The most amazing experience. Didn’t want to leave. Gorgeous property. Stefani made us feel at home. Totally exceeded our expectations. Also, the breakfast was delightful.

Villa Porta Maestra was one of our favourite stays in Croatia. The location is fantastic, right off of the square. We had the 2-bedroom apartment which was beautifully decorated, spacious and very comfortable for our family of four. Wonderful touches like fruit, snacks and water were a welcome treat when we arrived. Breakfast is delicious and served just a few steps away at an adjacent restaurant. The building is historic, and has a small museum housing original tile flooring from 89 AD and other artifacts dating back to 400 BC. A very special place!
Porta Maestra is in the heart of downtown Hvar. We could hear the church bells ringing and the birds singing. Our hostess Stephanie was very gracious, efficient, and always available. Our apartment included 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a balcony, and a partial view of the harbor.. She provided snacks and a generous breakfast in a nearby restaurant. We celebrated Mother's Day here.
