Illi lodge was a great base for exploring around Lago Ranco, including the Futangue reserve. It was easy to get to the reserve and the lakeside beaches from the lodge by car, although they’re close enough that cycling would also be an option. The lodge staff were very friendly and helpful, and were able to provide information and suggestions about local activities, including arranging kayaking on the lake for us. At the time of our visit they were also able to offer evening meals which were nicely prepared using local ingredients. The lodge itself is modern and clean and comfortable with something of a log cabin style in the public areas.
