Friendly local hotel. It was great to meet and talk with the owner. It was very quiet, but within an easy bus ride into Bern. I was PARTICULARLY happy it was not a "self check-in" facility. 3 of the 4 hotels we stayed in over the course of a week, were self check-in. At one, near Lucern, the hostess happened to be there and it was much easier. The other two (both near Zurich) were a disaster. The self check-in did not work!
Small and friendly! Breakfast was the best! Amicable staff and a varied offering with good coffee made for an enjoyable send off! If you have need of a quiet night away from the city or are simply exploring the area like I was, do consider the Schwanen.
We wanted something outside of the city and this definitely filled the bill. It was also a very quick ride into the town square of Aarberg

We really enjoyed our stay, the room was very clean. The owner was exceptionally nice. We wish we could've stayed here our entire trip.
