We had a truly extraordinary stay with Michael at Kande Gedara Resort. The accommodation has a huge garden and is surrounded by luscious green. Here you can get a glimpse of an authentic way of living in Sri Lanka. Michael took us for a small hike through the jungle where we saw wild growing pepper and jackfruit trees. You can also go on some more advanced hikes and get spectacular views if you’re staying here.
In the evening, Michael taught us how to cook Sri Lankan rice and curry, starting by grating fresh coconut to make coconut milk. He told us about all the spices and we ended up with an amazing dinner! The next day, Michael prepared delicious breakfast for us and helped us to get grease for our rental tuk tuk. All in all we can only recommend staying at Kande Gedara resort if you are looking for an authentic experience, surrounded by nothing but quiet and nature and with Michael as a warm hearted and welcoming host!
Host was very helpfull during my entire stay. A beautiful location. You get a homely feeling.
