Super cozy, staff is very attentive and friendly. Every room was heated (early march) and there is a lot of love and effort put into the accommodation. I was always happy to return to this place after a long day of walking. The staff also has a very good English level and the location is not far from a few stations.

The exterior is so beautiful, and so is the interior. A mix or western and Japanese, leaning more on the Japanese side.

Good location, friendly staff. Very clean. Close to Nijo Castle. Lots of antique furniture.

Wow, what a stay! It was a beautiful house, impeccably clean, a room with a great space, overlooking the garden, it was everything I imagined it to be! Although this ryokan didnt have an onsen, they do offer free tickets to one nearby we just couldn't go in at the specified time. That was the only bummer. The breakfast was hearty enough for us to go to the monkey mountain, I loved staying here! Thank you so much!

The vibe and design of this ancient house is amazing. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They put a lot of work into making such an old building comfortable by modern standards while sustaining it's beautiful original design.
