The couple that runs this homestay is incredible! They are so friendly and welcoming; it’s a totally unique experience. The tatami rooms are quiet at night, set alongside the tranquil river. Definitely book dinner as well.
Little inn in the middle of the mountains of Agano in Niigata. The couple who runs the inn are adorable and very kind. The owner can speak a little english and has many stories to tell! . The food served is 100% organic and delicious (be aware only vegetarian style food is provided). You definitely feel like home!.
These two are the cutest couple I have met in japan. They are so kind and have a open mindset for new things. He is a great artist and very famous in the towns nearby. His stoneculptures are beautiful.
She also teached me how to make soba noodles. Its amazing!
I loved all the art and the company and the food! The town is serene and paradisiacal. I was fortunate to kayak on the stunning river and get a tour of the host's private gallery filled with his phenomenal stonework. Both the hosts are just fantastic. I will never forget this place.
Had two of the best days in my 4 months travelling with the couple who owned this place. Absolute diamonds. They fed me delicious food, took so much interest in me. I helped Ken out in the garden and he took me around to some beautiful nature spots. We made friends so quickly and within hours were laughing and joking around. Ken took me to see the sculptures that he has around town (ask him about his sculptures, he’ll love it). He’s very popular in the region. The place I stayed was a beautiful calm area, very traditional house, did the job, nothing luxury. Very much appreciated
