The place was lovely. It was like stepping back in time. The host, Maiyu, and her husband were super friendly. They own a cafe downstairs where she serves very delicious traditional dessert. The town itself was lovely as well.
It's traditional bedding (so futon on the floor) and even though there was no AC at night, the cross breeze from some of the open windows, as well as the fans, made the room surprisingly cool. No mosquitos either!
The old resident house was built in the early 1900s and has been very well maintained. Our hosts were so lovely and very generous! They welcomed us with small gifts and a map to show us the best sites to see.
Location is very easily accessible by train.
Alles! Die Gastgeber haben uns willkommen geheissen und wir verlebten wunderbare 1 1/2 Tage in Mitsu, beim Schlendern, Lesen und Essen im Haus und im Viertel. Vielen Dank Maiko und Yoshi!
