The hosts were very friendly and quick to answer questions. They met us at the house shortly after arrival to give us a tour, and again at departure to ensure we made our connection to the train station. There were excellent English instructions on how to use the appliances and Japanese thermostat. The house is very organized has a touch of whimsy and a soothing comfort. The bedding was on the floor as found in Ryokins but much more comfortable. They felt as good as 5 inch thick Tempur-Pedic mattresses. They were so much better than the thin futons we slept on at other establishments. The Kamikura Hideaway was a breath of fresh air, providing all our needs in a relaxing environment. The whole house is curated telling an intriguing story. We absolutely loved staying here and would highly recommend it.

This was a beautiful home in a great location. The artifacts and functional items in the home were aesthetically pleasing to us. I feel calm thinking about the place even now. It was also quite unique - in a lovely way. The hosts were very kind and offered us guidance about a number of things and made arrangements for us as well for dinner and a tour.

Everything about our stay was perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our own meals. The beds were extremely comfortable. The location is stunning. Lots of space and room to relax. The hosts we're generous, helpful and kind. What makes this space even more special is the narrative element built in to the home. You can immerse yourself in intricate, unique and fascinating stories. You can tell how much work and thought went into creating this space and experience. We cannot recommend this enough and will never forget our stay.
