The owner and host Nunzio is so kind and helpful! For a budget, this room provided the best experience we could have hoped for! It was cute, clean, and right in the heart of the Sassi Di Matera (no driving, historic zones). You step out of your room and look up and the most amazing city and history. Staying higher up in the newer town would be a HIKE up the steep hills every day, so I highly recommend staying down in the sassi, especially at this hotel. So charming. Also every other hotel within a 2 mile walk of this hotel was at least $150-200 more a night.
Nunzio is great, the location is super, and the place itself is nice
The room was located right in the middle of sassi so it was easy to go around. The host also recommended places to go to. The room was cozy and we had a good rest.
It seems to be right in the heart of the old town. A bit tricky to find but Nunzio was very pleasant to deal with in terms of meeting up to take us to the location, and arranging for the commute to and from the hotel.
Convenient location. Sending guests a GPS position of the apartment would be helpful. Matera is hard to navigate!
