We had a fantastic stay at Thornbank Guest House in Bowness-on-Windermere. It’s run by Jane and Mark who are a lovely, lively couple who made us feel genuinely welcome. The rooms were beautifully kept: spotless, cozy, and very comfortable. The location is excellent. Just a 10 minute walk from the shops, restaurants, and attractions around Windermere. Breakfast was great every morning and really set us up for the day. Jane was incredibly helpful, offering great tips on where to go, what to book, and the best timing for different activities, which made a big difference to our experience. All in all, a very pleasant stay. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Lake District!

Excellent location being central to all of the lakes, with walks straight from the house. Free parking. Lovely clean rooms ,great quality breakfast.Jane and Mark are friendly and helpful and provided a lovely stay. Lovely thank you, Andrew.

Absolutely nothing to dislike! It was beautiful and felt really homely. It was really clean and recently decorated. Everything you might need was provided including extra tea, coffee and sugar by the door and any tour guides you might need :D It was also really handy to have your own keys to the front door so you can come and go as you please at any time. It was also really quiet and had no disruptions. The owners were so lovely and were really helpful. They even carried my big suitcase up and down the stairs and offered to hold our things when checking out until our train was due :). On top of all of this the location was brilliant only a ten minute walk to the main town and also had walks close by. Will definitely be staying again! :)
