Centrally located, incredibly quiet and peaceful, quirky old building felt like staying at the Three Broomsticks or the Leaky Cauldron. Staff were so very friendly, breakfast was lovely and plentiful. The family room was nice as our daughter's bed was in a separate bit so privacy for her and us rather than a single bed in the same.room. A great place to stay.

Been visiting Whitby (and The White Horse and Griffin) since the 90s. Beautiful location, excellent service, and the food is always awesome.

Breakfast skilfully produced and presented. Delicious. The hotel is situated in the heart of the old town so everything is conveniently at hand, including Sneaton Castle where we were attending a wedding. Very quiet for a town centre. Staff are very attentive and polite. Couldn’t have wished for better.

Staff were excellent. Friendly, helpful and attentive. We booked the room at the top of the hotel, we arrived early but were allowed to leave our luggage until check-in. Once checking in our hefty luggage had already been taken up to our room. Hotel, bar and restaurant are full of charm you'd expect from such a historic building. Central location couldnt be better and no issues with noise.
