Gasthof Goldenes Rossle, Динкельсбюль, Германия

This is NOT a fancy hotel. It is like the hotels I'd stay in Germany forty years ago. It's family owned and run. The rooms are comfortable. The entire hotel is clean. It's also a little quirky. Check-in is between 6PM and 8PM. The restaurant serves dinner between 6PM and 8PM. Drinks are served until ten. Also, there are several days a week when the restaurant is closed. However, the food is fantastic. The owner has a garden from which she harvests fresh vegetables daily. The tomatoes were amazing. We ate in the hotel our second night, and then returned the next for mostly the same dishes. The hotel is located in a tiny village, and the hotel seems to be the hub of activity. One night a local men's choir was practicing inside while we ate outside. Then the local fire department dropped by for bratwurst and beer. In the distance we could hear some band members practicing. Marvelous!

In a pretty village, close to the beautiful town of Dinkelsbuhl, this Gasthof had spacious rooms plus baths upstairs, along with good breakfast spreads and typical hearty, delicious German fare in its restaurant. The staff were very polite, kind, and wanting to make our stay as nice as possible.
