Great staff
This is a shining example of all that is good about German hospitality and family-style comfort. Generous rooms, wonderful breakfast, family-owned and operated. Full disclosure: I am Austrian so I am naturally at home with this type of small-scale hotel. Everything there feels "genuine", nothing like out the typical catalogue for hotel equipment like so many anonymous much bigger places, even if they sport more stars in their official categorization. But if you want to experience how it is to travel and "be" in Germany, than this is a place to go. Think of visiting a Ryokan in Japan.
I like the location in relation to the main station and the altstadt. Helpful staff. Relaxed neighborhood. A few good restaurants and a close grocery store.
The location was perfect. Easy to walk to the train station and easy to get to Alt Stadt.
