I provided my own food, as the VARUS APARTMENTS are simply accommodation, and nothing more. I really enjoyed my stay there, and the LOCATION of the apartments, literally just ACROSS THE ROOM from both the (combined) main railway station and bus station, couldn't have been better suited to my needs.
There was a supermarket within 10 minutes walking distance of the apartments, and I was able to travel to the HERMANNSDENKMAL (the impressive monument to HERMANN, the ancient German chieftain who defeated a Roman army 2, 000 years ago), which was the highlight of my stay.
The only ''problem'' was THE WEATHER..! I met a local on the 2nd day of my 3-day stay, and he warned me that the sunny weather that Saturday (June 29th, 2024) would give way to torrential downpours by that evening.
How right he was! I would recommend the VARUS APARTMENTS to anyone who wants a SELF-CATERING EXPERIENCE at the very affordable price of just 177 Euro for 3 nights.
Exceptionally clean, new furniture, freshly refurbished. Friendly helpful staff. The owner was extremely trusting when helping me with an issue that he resolved quickly and professionally.
