10 +++ /A +++ Stay. Quick smooth check-in. Parking directly out front. Very nice breakfast. Very nice hotel staff. Good WiFi signal. Very hot water. Quiet location. Great balcony with view. Lastly Wonderful/excellent owner and host.
Our host Christian was an absolute god-send! He was very patient with all of my questions in my slow German, and gave detailed instructions on the local bus schedule, what discounts the Zugpitze Gast-karte included, and where to find open restaurants in the greater Garmisch/Grainau area during the weekend. The continental breakfasts were refreshing, and although there was no Biergarten, there was a vending machine on location full of .5 L bottles of Spaten and Franziskaner (amongst other varieties) for only 2 Euros each. My wife and I were sad to leave, but Christian sent us off with a gift of two pretzels for the road in a small bag. We will definitely book here again!
The staff is friendly and can speak English well. The room is slightly tiny but kept very clean and has a balcony with a nice view. Close to Eibsee. You can reach Aldi and Edeka within 10 minutes by car as well. Very good value for money.
