Our room was perfectly clean, modern, stylish and nicely decorated. Silent neighbourhood, wonderful view, helpful and attentive hosts, excellent breakfasts in their taverna. This was our favourite accommodation in Crete and we hope to come back one day.

This is the most high tech, luxurious taverna accommodation ever! Everything is very comfortable and functional. Bathroom is really nice for Greece, and the bed is perfect, not hard. The hosts Kostas and Maria and their family are so warm and kind, very generous. They gave me little cakes every day and I got fresh broadbeans and raki, which is a nice Spring Cretan tradition. Oh and the first artichokes of the season, my favourite. I felt like part of the family. I’ll be going back and they are welcome to come to me in London any time!

Gonis is on the upper edge of an attractive village on the edge of mountains. As well as having separate Apartment's with cooking facilities it is also an excellent and popular local Taverna. The hosts are very amiable with a good local knowledge.

Apartments Gonies reflects the perfect backcountry get away: We especially loved the close by hiking trails, scenic views from the mountain roads, and friendliness of everybody we met in the village of Gonies but the neighbouring communities, too. Last but not least the family who runs the tavern, and apartments brings hospitality to an entire next level. Not only do they offer perfect home made Cretan food in their tavern but in our room we were greeted by fruits, cake, water, juice and a bottle of local whine. For us it is no question that we rather stay, and support a Greek family business than to book into on of these stereo type resorts that you will easily find along the coast line. That counts in particular for off-season when resort town become ghost towns but live moves on in the beautiful mountain villages.

Absolutely top and the best accommodation you can find on Crete! The best hosts you will ever meet. The quality of the breakfast and the food is unbilieveble. The rooms are splendid and the vieuw fabulous!
