The best thing about Hotel Filoxenia is the location. It is absolute waterfront, so the views were wonderful. The location allows you to watch the most glorious sunsets which we enjoyed from the shared terrace with a bottle of wine, but could also be seen from our private balcony. Hotel Filoxenia is a very short walk from the bus station/port so it is easy to get there without a car. We arrived by ferry at Katapola and took the bus to Aegiali but there are some ferries that come into Aegiali too. As the hotel is on the very edge of the little town of Aegiali and away from the shops, bars and restaurants it is extremely quiet. The main beach is an easy 8 minute level walk away from the hotel. The hotel itself is quite basic, though well-looked after. Our room had pretty outdated decor and furnishings, but we still had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
