The staff were incredibly lovely and went out of their way to give us the best possible experience! I have never stayed at a hotel that had so much character and natural architectural beauty -- clearly a labor of love in the careful restoration -- but also such wonderful staff that did their utmost to make us feel pampered. The resident cats are all adorable too, and everything has a feeling of "another world," which was just what I wanted -- orange trees surrounding quiet pools and meditative gardens, a beautiful spa, marble bathtubs, delicious food prepared by the chef. I wouldn't have picked the town Kavala as a destination, but the hotel looked so wonderful that we decided to go for it, and my partner and I loved it. I highly recommend this little secretive gem of a place, mostly as a place to go feel special and sophisticated, welcomed, and yet also off the beaten path.
