The host, Dino, was very hospitible. I informed him that I would be a late arrival and he graciously offered to pick me up from Matera Central Station. The home was perfect and has everything you need for your stay in Matera. The unit is extremely clean and the washing machine is a great bonus. Note, the One-Bedroom Apartment is about 2 floors up with no elevator. It was fine for me as I only had a backpack.
Charming renovated apartment in an older building just a few minutes walk to the Sassi. The host met us with a huge smile and showed us what we needed to know about our stay. He even placed his own car in a parking spot right outside the door so we didn’t have to search for one. Despite being on a busy street it was very quiet.
The owner was very enthusiastic and waited for us downstairs to help us find a parking space. The room was spacious and clean. It was newly renovated and had air conditioning. I was very satisfied with my three-night stay. It only takes ten minutes to walk to the ancient city. There are many restaurants and supermarkets nearby
The apartment has a working washing machine electric and outdoor blinds, great to keep the sun and light out.
As if it was end of April, I was glad that there was working heating system in the apartment.
A supermarket just across the street, no parking fees in front of the building and in adjacent streets. Within 5min walk the centre of Matera is reached.
Loved the Caffe Schiuma for Italian breakfast and a very well rated pizzeria 400 Gradi just 5min walk from the apartment, still in the neighbourhood, both away from crowds.
Case Vacanze Maia is modern, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. It is a short walk to the historic quarter. There’s a great cafe just around the corner , and a good supermarket is just a 1 min walk away. The apartment is comfortable, and in a fairly quiet street. Dino was a great host. Highly recommended.
