One of the coolest places we have stayed. The apartment is a bit of a challenge to get to, but once there, wow. The owner was very attentive to our needs and served a nice hearty breakfast on the amazing outdoor rooftop balcony. Matera is full of hidden treasures, waiting to be found at the top or bottom of a staircase, and this apartment is right in the middle of it all. It was nice to be able to head back to this apartment in the middle of the day and cool.off before walking to our restaurant in the evening. I would easily return to Matera and stay here again.

A very romantic and authentic property; the place is very large - it looks smaller on the photos. Giuseppe is a great host and having a breakfast on the rooftop terrace is indeed a wonderful way to start your day in Matera. Thank you Giuseppe!

It had the best double terrace with the best views of Sassi di Matera compared to what others had to offer. Decent breakfast and a very hospitable host. I would definitely stay again if i visit Matera!

Spacious apartment. Giuseppe was a responsive host. Our train from Rome got delayed and hence, we missed our connection to Matera. He was online for updates and when we finally got to the apartment, the heater was on and the place was nice and warm. Breakfasts were typically Italian. Good coffee, bread, spreads, homemade cake one morning, our personal choice of delicious cornetti the next, fresh fruits n juice. We had access to the terrace which gave us a nice view of the Sasso. We had a lovely time staying here but if you can't handle steps (as there are many), perhaps not an ideal place for you.
