Great apartment, very comfortable for a family of four. Staying next to a flowing river was part of the experience! We appreciated the location with just a 20 minute walk from central Varenna, which is a walk with beautiful views. There is a bus that drops you off/picks you up very near to the apartment. The host Nicole is very thoughtful and made our experience more enjoyable. We really enjoyed our stay!

This review is coming late as i just got time to do this. I was in Varrena with my two girlfriends from 18 - 20 May. The stay was clean and the host was just wonderful. She helped us to store our lugggage after check out since our train back was only in the afternoon. She also helped us to call for a cab to go to the station since we had to take the train to Milan. The host also gave me a heads up that the nearest station Fiumelatte though near is only accessible by stairs. Hence, just a heads that if you have alot of luggage, it might be better to alight at Varenna and take a cab from there. Our host advised us to do this however, we thought we could still handle the stairs XD. The cost of the accomodation is also reasobale for Varenna and it is a 20 minutes walk from the main town. We really enjoyed this walk as we got to take in the sights as we made our way. :-)

Nicole was very thoughtful and contacted us a day in advance to send us the directions and to double-check if we needed anything. The house is beyond stunning and it has everything you may need. The village is rather small so it's easy to get by on foot.

The apartment is located about a 20-25 minute walk from the center of Varenna. The walk is along a busy road that is very narrow in places. Free parking was available on the other side of the road, which meant that we had to transport our luggage some distance before we reached the numerous steps up to the apartment. Saying that we learned to appreciate the location because of the crowds in Varenna and surrounding towns. The apartment is part of an old mill, hence the name. It's interesting. The apartment is on 3 levels, foyer entrance, second level bedroom and bathroom, and third level living space. The apartment was clean and the bed fine, but one side of the double bed was against the wall. The bathroom was small but good. The living space had a table and was nice-sized but the kitchen was very small.
