Very nice place. Very good attention from the staff. If I had knew it earlier it was that good I would have stayed an extra day. I also recommended it to my friends who live nearby there that didn't know it.
Great place to discover Lucca! Nice room, great outdoor (very warm and original pool) and most importantly super hosts! Really appreciated the atmosphere and recommend this place.
Beautiful villa close to Lucca and easy to reach other touristic sights. Big clean rooms with comfortable beds and airconditioning, coffee every morning and a lovely swimming pool for a few hours after a busy day. Eddi is a great host with many recommendations for the area.
Our stay at Il Buen Retiro truly lived up to its name; it was the perfect refuge. Eddi, the owner, is the embodiment of hospitality and makes you feel right at home. The house and its rooms are beautifully designed down to the smallest detail, everything is spotless, and the bed was super comfortable. Eddi told us that the garden is his passion, and it really shows: the garden is extremely well maintained, and the swimming pool was the perfect way to cool down. It truly was il miglior buen retiro for us, and we would love to come back!
Wow !! Edmundo (Eddy) was an absolute pleasure to stay with! He bends over backwards to help all guests and has 2 of the nicest dogs I have ever met! The pool is great to just jump in whenever you get hot! All I can say is it was probably the most relaxing break that my wife and I have ever had. It was my 66th birthday and 44th wedding anniversary on the day before we left and Eddy was thoughtful enough to get me a gorgeous cheesecake topped with fresh fruit!! He even arranged a driver to take us back to Pisa airport for half the normal cost.
I would thoroughly recommend this location and host and dogs!! For a great stay and we will be going back.
