Location was fantastic Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful

The Foz beach hotel is a rather basic hotel, maybe a bit outdated in style, but at a nice location at the Buarcos beach. The rooms were clean, with a basic bathroom and a nice balcony (choose the ocean view!!). The breakfast was also basic (bread rolls, croissants, some yoghurt etc), but for us absolutely sufficient. Eggs are boiled freshly for each guest! The staff is super friendly, speaks english and they really take an effort to make your stay nice. The neighbourhood of Buarcos is quiet, but has some nice restaurants (look up Il Camino, excellent pizza!) and the hotel is next to a big supermarket. Th ehotel is especially nice when you plan to visit all the great sites in the neighbourhood (Aveiro, Coimbra, etc) by car, since it is very easy to find a parking place for your car.

After reading so many bad reviews I was very positively surprised. My room was clean, well and simple decorated. The bathroom was modernized and clean. The size of the room was not too small (I didnt expect a suite) The stuff was super friendly and helpful. Maybe it was so because I engaged with them not only always complaining, but greeting, asking for advice in a friendly matter and make compliments for things that I liked. They tried everything when a taxi took too long to get me to my church in time. Offered me a collegue's e-scooter, and were looking around for somebody with car to drop me off. I cant say anything bad about them. Overall a really nice experience.

We were very happy with our ocean view room and all the above as well.

It was like a home away from home. Convenient to everything with a wonderful view
