Breakfast was bountiful and above average. High tea was good, and while expensive, was about right compared to other teas. Would have preferred the tea already brewed rather than bags. Nature trail, pool and fitness were excellent. Front desk printed our boarding passes. Concierge and bellman were very good. Parking was abundant and easy. Food was good and not overpriced. Dining room and lounges have a relaxed, country club feel. A high end property.

The hotel is about 25 minutes by car from Edinburgh centre. It has a golf course (which we didn’t use) and beautiful surroundings. They put in quite a bit of effort to beautify the garden and outside area with flowers. There’s a little nature walk to a bird feeding station and beehives. Our children loved the large pool and outside playground. It’s a very family friendly hotel. The staff was friendly and polite and helped make our stay wonderful. The rooms are not in the old mansion pictured but in a building connected to the mansion. Overall we had a wonderful stay.

Wonderful place with lots of history. Stay was comfortable and we enjoyed the ambience and expanse of the greenery. Breakfast had plenty of choices, fresh juices, omelets and were well attended.

Location and value were good. Enjoyed NOT staying in City Center but rather in a more countryside location. Perfectly located to Curriehill station for the train into Wavery or Haymarket. Really enjoyed the bar in the mornings with coffee and such, sitting out on the deck.
