Great location right in the centre of Lynton. It's a short walk to pubs, cafes, shops, etc. but Lynton is a small town and it is located on a hillside. Local driving can be hairy if you're not used to steep hills and narrow twisty roads. Having the reserved parking place at the cottage is really useful. There are plenty of nice walks accessible straight from the cottage and the cliff railway down to Lynmouth is only a short walk away - we sometimes walked down, but got the vintage water-driven rail trip back up. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay and IMO the kitchen equipment was above average. If you want to eat out, we found it's best to book in advance.

Great place to stay Fern Cottage had all that we needed, with a well equipped kitchen for self catering and two grocery stores in the village.

The location was perfect. Also it was very warm and cosy especially after the rainy days we had. Despite the negatives below, we would stay there again. Hopefully the negatives will be sorted for future guests.

Lovely small cottage in a great location with private parking which is a bonus in Lynton.

Nice decor and ambience. Very well equipped.Liked that it had its own parking.
