What is not to like: beautiful period property and great breakfast

We loved our stay! The room was spacious and a little bit old school (which we liked). The window looked out over the golf course and there were always lots of rabbits nibbling away at the grass whenever we looked out. We enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi and sauna and it wasn't too crowded, even though we were there at a weekend. The staff were friendly and there were nice touches around such as free iced water. The breakfast was plentiful and good and there were nice views of the garden from the restaurant.

The disabled parking was virtually nonexistent and the car park was well and truly over subscribed with very poor management. However, the hotel itself is lovely and brilliant value for money. I didn’t eat or speak to the staff other than check in, so I have very little to say on that front, but the bed was comfortable and the room wasn’t too hot as well as being mostly clean except for it being like my mums underwear and full of cobwebs! But all in all, it was ok and I’d definitely stay here again and I’d make sure I bring swimming stuff to use their facilities and relax a little more.

The hotel is a beautiful old building and in a lovely setting. Great for golfers but we didn’t play. The hotel bedrooms are a little tired looking but nevertheless very clean and comfortable. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but had a drink in the bar which was very convivial. Would definitely stay again and indeed have stayed on many occasions. The staff were very pleasant and efficient. Lots of free parking too. Nice swimming pool area but didn’t have time to use on this occasion.

Breakfast was good, lots of choice.. Dinner excellent, I think we dined last. Not much fresh veg left.
