The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities in the room. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. I stayed for four nights and ate four different evening meals. I was very pleased with the choice on the menu and quality of the food. Thoroughly enjoyed all four meals.
Wonderful stay ,perfect setting steeped in history ,so lovely with roaring fire, and country setting ,fantastic staff who were so helpful and kind, food was outstanding and really and authentically dog friendly, even get a sausage cut and wrapped for breakfast, absolutely loved it
We stayed overnight at the hotel. We had dinner there. The menus choice was good and the quality was great (better than we expected). It's in the village of Wooler which provided a lovely evening walk after dinner. I would recommend it for the food alone.
The stay was booked for elderly disabled relatives. All the rooms are up a flight of stairs, however there weren't too many stairs for them to negotiate. During the day there is only one member of staff, so service can be a bit slow. Having said that, The lady was very helpful and pleasant and did her best to meet the demands of her guests and pub customers. We had an evening meal which was very nice.
i go on my motorbike ..its an old worldly place to stay ..i just like it....
