Lovely location on the River Ure. Managed to spot kingfishers in the morning. The breakfast was delicious and the room very comfortable. This is what I call a 'proper pub' with decent beer. We also had a very nice small meal in the evening - we had had a big lunch - the homemade soup was great. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

The rooms were above the local, popular pub. The back lawn and seating stretched down to a river and a bridge. It was picturesque and wonderful for an afternoon drink. Our room had a four poster bed and a river view. We booked for dinner and were pleased with the varied menu. A cooked breakfast to order was included in the price of the room.

The breakfast was delicious. A lovely Yorkshire breakfast with a beautiful continental selection on our room designated table which we thought was a lovely touch.
