In the heart of Windermere Village, The Cottage offers charming 4-star accommodations in the Lake District. Built in the 1800s, it is the oldest house in Windermere. With a feature bed included in most rooms, the guest house mixes modern with traditional features. Each room has an en suite shower room and a TV and DVD player. Breakfast with a wide choice of cold and cooked items, including vegetarian options, are served in the traditional dining room. Guests can enjoy evening meals in Windermere’s range of pubs and restaurants, which are on the doorstep. For travel, Windermere Train and Bus stations are just a 2-minute walk away. The town of Bowness-on-Windermere and its World of Beatrix Potter attraction is a few minutes’ drive away.

Muriel was an excellent hostess, very friendly and welcoming. She looked after us superbly. The room was very comfortable and clean.
Quaint guest house with very friendly morning breakfast staff.
The staff were so accommodating and such lovely people to be around (when having breakfast etc). The location of the property is perfect for the centre of Windermere and a lovely walk down to the lake. The rooms where spotlessly clean and big and we were right next to the breakfast room (but we're not disturbed at all with sound). Highly recommend.
It was close the local shops and restaurants/ bars and around a mile and a half away from lake Windermere.
It was very clean. Free parking and breakfast included was a bonus.
Very homely,cosy feel to the place. Breakfast was gorgeous with plenty of choice. Very helpful friendly staff at breakfast. Room 8 ground floor was lovely,small but cosy with huge bed!
2min walk to shops,bars & 20min walk to Bowness.
Loved our stay and will definitely stay again.
