Located on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, The Fairfax Arms offers 4-star accommodations and a traditional, oak-beamed bar. It has peaceful gardens, and is a 30-minute drive from York. The elegant rooms come with homemade biscuits, freshly ground coffee and fresh fruit. Some retain original wooden beams, and all have a flat-screen TV and iPod docking station. Guests can enjoy a drink in the bar, with its open log fire. There is outside seating for warmer weather, and a restaurant serving meals made from fresh local ingredients. The staff was warm and welcoming. Our room was cozy and clean. Breakfast was delicious. Couldn't have asked for a better stay.
Really nicely appointed rooms with so many lovely touches. Breakfast had a very good choice and served in a lovely light filled dining room. Really nice pub in an idyllic Yorkshire village.

Really nice historic and traditional hotel, easy parking, you have everything in the room you would need, and they all work properly . Very good breakfast, amazing route for hikers and runners. Definitely recommend this hotel.
