Good location for Glyndebourne, good picnic, good to have the pub open on returning from the opera for a nightcap, nice breakfast with choices available

We didn't expect the food to be great. But it was, very much so. The menu was broad, as was the wine list. We had not planned to eat dinner at the pub most nights, but just couldn't resist.

Nice location (if a little remote). Staff very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Room very comfortable and clean. Would consider returning in the summer months to experience more of the outside space which looked nice.

This is an absolutely charming pub/restaurant in the middle of the Sussex countryside with a few rooms. All around are lovely walks and views, and it is only a shortish drive (albeit down very narrow country lanes) from Lewes, Hove, and Brighton. Our room was very comfortable with a splendid bathroom, and lovely view. We ate dinner on Saturday night and it was inventive and delicious cuisine using a lot of local ingredients. Highly recommended, not least because the owners and staff are particularly friendly.

This was our favorite hotel during our stay In the UK. The staff made us feel at home and the hotel restaurant is fabulous, one of the best meals we ate during our trip. We will definitely be back again
